Information

Every year on the Easter weekend a special steam train runs from Prague to Křivoklát castle and back again. You usually get about six hours at the castle and special events are put on at/in the castle during the weekend. Information in Czech is available here.

Tickets usually go on sale on the 1st of March but can only be purchased in person from either Masarykovo or Braník railway stations. The steam train uses old style carriages and the journey takes about 3 hours so if you enjoy your modern conveniences while travelling this may not be for you. In addition there are only a certain number of seats available and you must have bought a specific seat reservation ticket to use them so you have been warned to get your tickets early.
